Its pale iris is crossed by a fine dark network that stands out against the head.

Its dorsal skin is not smooth: it forms a dense microrelief of tiny granules visible even at close range.

Like other glass frogs in the group, it places egg masses on leaves hanging above streams.

Males call at night from leaves and branches above forested streams.

In Colombia it is known from Choco, within a broader distribution extending from Honduras to northwestern Ecuador.
